So much is written about leadership. Not nearly as much is written about followership.
We spend a great deal of time teaching people how to present, but not much time teaching them how to be a good audience member.
We talk a lot about young people coming into organizations, their generation, and the impact they have on the workplace. We talk far less about the significantly older (or much younger) boss and the impact they have on the relationship.
I wonder if we should spend more time teaching people how to follow, not just how to lead. How to be a better audience member. How to be a better teammate. How to be a better partner to the people we work with.
