Kevin O'Connor is an executive coach, consultant, speaker, author, and educator who helps leaders navigate the challenges that come with growth, change, and increased responsibility.
For more than three decades, Kevin has worked with professionals across industries to strengthen leadership effectiveness, build stronger relationships, and communicate with greater influence. He is particularly known for helping technical professionals make the often difficult transition from expert contributor to successful leader, especially when leading former peers.
His extensive work in healthcare has also made him a trusted advisor to physicians and healthcare executives seeking to lead with greater confidence, improve collaboration, and drive meaningful organizational change.
Experience That Bridges Theory and Practice
Kevin holds three master's degrees and combines academic expertise with real-world experience. His work focuses on leadership development, team effectiveness, communication, influence, conflict management, and career growth.
Throughout his career, he has partnered with organizations ranging from healthcare systems and pharmaceutical companies to universities, government agencies, and global corporations. Regardless of industry, his goal remains the same: helping people become more effective leaders and stronger partners in their organizations.
Author, Educator, and Lifelong Learner
Kevin has authored and co-authored eight books focused on leadership, communication, facilitation, and professional effectiveness. His most recent works, written with Cyndi Maxey, provide practical tools professionals can immediately apply in their careers and organizations.
As an Adjunct Senior Instructor at Loyola University Chicago and former instructor at Columbia College Chicago, Kevin has spent years helping students and professionals develop their skills and confidence. Having taught everyone from third graders to experienced executives, he likes to joke that the third graders prepared him for all the rest.

Kevin believes that great leaders never stop learning. In addition to his work as a coach, consultant, speaker, and educator, he is actively involved in professional organizations dedicated to leadership development and lifelong learning.
He is an active member of the North American Society of Adlerian Psychology (NASAP) and co-chair the Transformative Leadership and Coaching (TLC) section, helping leadership professionals apply Adlerian principles in today's workplaces.
Throughout his career, Kevin has also served as a faculty member, educator, and contributor within a variety of professional associations including the American College of Healthcare Executives, American Association for Physician Leadership and the National Speakers Association (NSA).
